Known for being a wealthy suburb, Prosper straddles Collin and Denton counties and is part of the fast-growing U.S. 380 corridor, the Dallas North Tollway corridor and the famed Golden Corridor along Preston Road. Growth in the old farm town of Prosper has quadrupled its population in recent years, and it’s still growing.
In spite of all the growth, Prosper retains a small-town family-friendly atmosphere with community cook-outs, picnics, homecoming parades, and annual events such as the Christmas Festival and Trout Derby. Prosper also offers a host of activities through its Senior Citizen Program to sustain strong community ties with its elderly population.
With one of the highest home sale averages in the DFW Metroplex, Prosper, is a hot commodity. But, the definition of “luxury” homes in DFW are all homes with a price over $350,000. Truly, many people feel moving from other parts of the country that they have died and gone to heaven when they see what $350,000 buys in the area. But, many Prosper neighborhoods contain homes that are much more affordable, allowing families with more modest budgets to equally enjoy all that Prosper has to offer. Prosper ISD is a member of the Texas High Performance Schools Consortium (the Consortium), joining 22 other districts from across the state of Texas to develop high priority learning standards, meaningful assessments and a community-based accountability system that is not over-reliant on high stakes testing.
