University Park

University Park is the home of Southern Methodist University which includes on its campus the renowned Meadows Museum of Art and George W. Bush Presidential Center. It has long been a home community to upscale residents, the first of whom settled here to support the university. It became its own city in 1924 and later came to be associated with the Park Cities which refers to the area encompassing the town of Highland Park and the city of University Park. These independent cities are surrounded by the City of Dallas, and often are first in mind when people think of Dallas’ affluent lifestyle.

Resident families enjoy the benefit of the Exemplary Highland Park ISD; its well-known high school (actually located within University Park’s boundaries) is a public four-year college preparatory school recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a School of Excellence and winner of blue ribbon designation. The HP Highlanders have a long tradition of both academic and athletic accomplishment.

Residents find life within University Park to be like living in a small village with close connections to neighbors and quiet residential streets, and yet literally everything is right around the corner. Shopping and restaurants in Dallas are world class. Love Field Airport is just a few miles away, and DFW International Airport is approximately 30 minutes away.
